You will notice fishing poles on one of the walls; the owners are dedicating this spot to a neighbor from CO who had a dream.. . following is their story about Bob:
Bob was our neighbor, he lived a few doors down the street from us. He lived there for years before we even met him. It was only him and his wife Bonnie, they had no other family. Bob worked hard his whole life, he often told stories of his parents who were both in the circus and traveled the country while Bob was raised by his grandmother. Bob had a dream to live on the water in Florida, he spoke of it often. Bonnie eventually got sick and passed away soon after. We told Bob he should pursue his dream of living on the water in Florida. Instead, Bob stayed in his home, ate lunch in the same local restaurant every day and continued to sit in his old chair watching a small TV in his sparsely furnished living room.
Bob's health deteriorated and he went to an assisted living facility and later died in 2015. We helped clean out his home but since he had no family, there wasn't anyone to give the few things to. There was very little in the kitchen cabinets, Bonnie's trinkets sprinkled throughout the home, and odds and ends of furniture. Bob did have a collection of fishing poles that we just couldn't bring ourselves to give to the donation center, he had customized those poles using a thread weave process and they were special to him. We knew we had to keep them but we didn't know what we would ever do with them. Once we purchased this home in Florida we knew where those poles needed to be. In some way, we feel that Bob finally has his home on the water in Florida.
